When a template cannot do what your business needs, we build it.
Most of the sites in our portfolio are custom builds, usually on Next.js and React. We use custom development when a site needs to do real work: price a quote, run a loan application, filter a directory, show live rates or log customers in. When a platform like WordPress or Webflow would serve you better, we will say so.
What’s Included
- Custom front-end built on Next.js and React
- Databases, authentication and user accounts
- Interactive tools: calculators, quote builders, multi-step forms
- API integrations and live data feeds
- Server rendering for speed and search visibility
- Documentation and a clean handover
When Custom Development Makes Sense
- Your site needs logic a page builder cannot handle, such as pricing rules or eligibility checks
- Customers need accounts, portals or dashboards
- You need to pull in or display data from other systems in real time
- Performance and search visibility matter and templates are slowing you down
- You have outgrown a platform and keep paying for workarounds
If none of these apply, a well-built site on WordPress, Webflow or Framer is often cheaper to run and easier for your team to edit.
Examples From Our Work
A few custom builds from our portfolio:
- Valley Fulfillment: a quote calculator that prices a brand’s monthly fulfillment against a real rate card and recalculates as order volume, units per order and pallet count change, supported by around thirty industry and platform pages.
- 24NexGen: account registration and login, a multi-step transfer flow and a live ticker covering forty currencies and twenty crypto assets for a regulated money services business.
- The Ready Ads: a database-driven directory with search, category filters, sponsor tiers, video ad units and a self-serve advertiser funnel, built on Next.js and Supabase with a companion iOS app.
- AEO Labs: a Next.js agency site with nine individually built case studies, a service taxonomy, and social preview images generated per page at request time.
Our Stack
We mostly build with Next.js, React and TypeScript, with Supabase or other managed databases, and deploy to modern hosting with automatic builds. We choose managed services where possible so you are not paying for servers you do not need.
How a Custom Build Works
1. Scope the requirements
We define what the site must do, who uses it and which systems it connects to, then agree a fixed scope.
2. Design and prototype
You review designs and, for complex tools, a working prototype before full development.
3. Build and test
We build in stages you can review, test on real devices and check performance and accessibility before launch.
4. Launch and support
We launch with analytics, Search Console and monitoring in place, and offer ongoing support for updates and new features.
Built for Search From Day One
Custom sites can have SEO problems when content only appears after JavaScript runs. We render pages on the server or at build time, so search engines see complete content, and we set up metadata, sitemaps and structured data as part of the build.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is custom development more expensive than WordPress or Webflow?
Usually, upfront. It can cost less over time if it replaces paid plugins and workarounds, but if you do not need custom features, a platform is often the better value.
Can I edit a custom site without a developer?
Yes, if it is set up with a content management system. We connect a CMS for pages that change often.
Do you build web apps or only websites?
Both. Portals, dashboards and tools that sit inside a marketing site are a regular part of our work.
Who owns the code?
You do. We hand over the repository and documentation at the end of the project.
